About Us
KMK Optometry Board Exam Review Team

KMK:  A Company of Educators

KMK is comprised of two clinicians and one scientist, each of whom specializes in a different portion of the exam.  As such, our approach to optometry board exam preparation is both technically sound and clinically relevant.  More importantly, we believe there is a huge difference between relaying information and actually teaching it, and we are passionate about doing the latter.

Dr. Kyle Cheatham graduated from Centre College with a B.S. in Biology and completed optometry school at Indiana University School of Optometry before accepting a prestigious residency at the Kansas City VA Hospital.  He recently was inducted as a fellow (F.A.A.O) in the American Academy of Optometry.  Dr. Cheatham practices at Heartland Eye Consultants, a secondary eyecare center in Omaha, Nebraska.  He specializes in ocular disease and low vision.

Melissa Cheatham attended the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in Communication Studies before receiving her Master’s in Physician’s Assistant Studies from University of Nebraska Medical Center; she now practices as a physician assistant in cardiology with Bryan Heart Institute in Lincoln, NE.

Dr. Kevin Wood earned a B.S. in Chemical Physics from Centre College (KY) and an M.S. in Biology from the University of California, San Diego, where he subsequently completed his Ph.D. in both Theoretical Physics and Physical Chemistry.  He is currently a postdoctoral research fellow in biological physics at Harvard University. His research involves nonequilibrium dynamics in stochastic and nonlinear systems of chemical and biological relevance, with particular emphasis on single molecule studies of DNA and other biopolymers. Kevin also enjoys ice cream with chunks of chocolate or cookie dough in it.
